Day Twenty-One

First, something I forgot to say yesterday..... when we were driving through the top part of Texas, the trees were different.  I have never seen so many short, twisted, bent, and leaning trees!  Beautiful, but different.  We saw several signs warning of high wind gust areas and I guess the trees get shaped by the high winds.  BTW, those winds almost took off the car door once when we stopped.

Now, for today.  The lodging at Tinker was old, but very spacious, clean, and nice.  It was a shorter drive today so we didn't set the alarm for this morning.  We thought we had directions to a restaurant for breakfast, but when we got there, it was an empty building.  So we went to Starbucks and had something there.  :)

We drove across Oklahoma and into Arkansas.  The landscape changed as we got into the state.  Lots more trees.

You were going to see a picture here of Arkansas trees, thick along the sides of the road.  However, the WiFi connection is as slow as molasses in January here, and my pictures won't download.

Not too many note-worthy signs today, but one caught my eye.  We were passing a large body of water, Lake Eufaula.  The next exit was for Lotawatah Road.  Get it???  :)

We are now checked in at the lodging on Little Rock AFB.  Our GPS brought us here via a two lane winding road.  Once we got on base, the main road was closed for repairs.  So it took us a while to get here.  When we got to the address listed, it was the wrong building.  But we are here, the suite is clean, the A/C works.  On the second floor with no elevator and no close parking, so that is inconvenient, but we are okay.  Golfer has gone to check out the gym.  When he gets back and cleaned up, we'll go find the Commissary and buy some more fruit and then find some supper.

Tomorrow we will be heading to Memphis and stopping at Graceland.  Then staying in lodging at a Navy base, NGIS NSA Mid-South, Millington, TN.

Stay safe and God Bless America!
