OY! TECHNOLOGY!

Hey, all!

Things have been busy here.  Golfer surprised me with new phones for us yesterday and we've been getting them set up.  I've had a cell phone for years and have just used it as a phone.  You know, to make and receive calls, send emergency SOS's and such.  Golfer has had more functions in use on his phones.  But now I have been thrust into the 21st century and beyond with a wonderful Samsung Galaxy SII phone that appears to do just about anything and everything!  I love it!  Thanks, Golfer! I've just completed entering contact information and pictures and am ready to move on to downloading a game!  I'll let you know how it goes.

In other news, evidently it is now the time for hospitals and medical professionals to audit their books and mail has been coming in saying they have not been paid and I'm supposed to follow up on that.  And after last Summer, that's a lot of possible bills!  We've been very fortunate and most have flown through our insurance companies systems with no problem.  But I just received a letter from the hospital saying they were owed some money for service on January 1, 2011.  WTH!  That's a problem on so many levels.  It was a holiday, it was a Saturday, I have nothing on the calendar for that day like an ER visit (I keep calendars for a couple years for just this purpose) and they didn't say which insurance company I was supposed to check with!  After trying for two days to reach them and being on hold for what seemed like forever, I was told "never mind, they were checking into it"  Geez!

It's been cold for a few days and is now warming up again.  Supposed to be near 70 tomorrow.  Winter in Virginia.  I'm not complaining.  I'm ready for Summer.

It's time to go check the laundry and start supper, so that's it for now.  Stay safe!

Back Home!

Golfer and I went up to D.C. with NurseJ and BeyB on Friday afternoon.  Just got home.

On the way there we made a stop at Short Pump to visit "Frostings", a cupcake bakery that was featured on "Cupcake Wars".  Golfer and I have never seen the show, but it's a favorite of NurseJ's family.  I can say that the cupcakes were very lovely and very delicious!

We spent yesterday wandering through a couple Smithsonian buildings and just seeing the sights.  The hotel provided shuttle service to the Metro station so we were all set.  We all had a good time and were worn out by the time we returned to the hotel last evening.

After a stop for breakfast this morning we hit the IKEA store and did some shopping.  Then we were on our way home.  We will probably all sleep well tonight!

The Furry Kids are fine.   We have an excellent young lady who comes and cares for them while we're away.

So, we're back  home, the suitcase is put away, the laundry is running and it's time to fix some supper.  Stay warm and stay safe!

More later!

A Seasonal Weather Update!

The forecast for today is low 60's and sunny.  On the way to work this morning I saw a flock of robins!  I hope they don't freeze their little tukusses off in a few days!

Stay safe!

A Really Belated Happy New Year!

I hope everyone survived the holidays and had a wonderful time!  I always enjoy Christmas - the music, the decorations, the family and friends, the good food........but for some reason this past one just wore me out.

Things are back to normal now.  The decorations are all  down and put away and everything is cleaned up.  And on we go.

The weather here in Virginia has been up and down and back and forth. We've had "shorts" weather every now and then.   Today is cold and rainy.  Tomorrow will be sunnier, but then turning colder. We just dress in layers and try to be prepared.  The warm weather has the plants confused, too.  There are buds coming out on some of the trees and today I saw daffodils starting to sprout up through the ground. I hope they all survive.  Even though I'm ready for Summer, I know Winter is not over yet.

It's time to curl up under one of Bikini's quilts and read a good book.  There really isn't any news from here, I just wanted to say hi and let you know Golfer and I are still here!

Stay safe!
