It Was Time for New Flowers

The pansies peaked early this year and it was time for them to go.  So, now we have red geraniums in the porch pots.  They seem happy there and are doing well so far. 😊

We had our Spring A/C checkup and all is well there.  But it cooled off and the heat is still running.  Later this week it is supposed to get into the upper 80's so we'll be switching over I am sure.

Other than that, we've just been keeping up with things, and doing all the usual "stuff".  Les has gotten to play golf a few times when the weather cooperated.

Our family is doing okay.  There are a few issues but I won't go into those here.  Everyone is trying to take care of themselves and stay safe.  Soon Jacquie will be getting Little Miss E all registered and ready for Kindergarten in the Fall. She has loved preschool so I hope that is going to go well.  She'll be at the same school as Cutie Girl.  Jordan is finishing up the semester, and applying for a special class she needs.  Boxer is  looking at colleges, taking SAT tests, etc.  Bloomer is keeping busy with school work, too.

Updated View of Our Backyard

 

This small tree is done blooming and now its leaves are coming out.  Pretty red leaves!

The back corner. There is a pretty Azalea already blooming in the far back.  Sadly this picture doesn't show it very well.  :)

More Azaleas blooming.  That small red bush is an off-shoot from a larger bush that died a couple years ago.  Most of the ones in this area are the first we ever planted here, so they're at least twenty-one years old.  I should check for the life span of Azaleas.

A Morning Funny from Alexa

As I was cooking breakfast this morning, I said "Good Morning" to Alexa.  After she said "Hello", she informed me it was National Velociraptor Awareness Day.  Then she told me that this is silly.  If you are aware of a Velociraptor, it is already too late!

Picture from the Front

I have posted pictures of our back yard recently and didn't do any of the front.  So here it is.

The Liriope are starting to come up.  Not in the picture is the large Azalea that is starting to get buds and blooms at the corner of the porch.

I have mentioned the pollen being a bit worse this year (at least I think so).  So here is what I'm talking about.  The picture is of the curb across the street from us.  

This is how it gets if no one cleans up.  Like I have said, when I use the blower to clean up our property, I raise a yellow cloud! 😊

Wise Bumper Sticker

When I am out and about - and as we all know that time has been reduced since the Covid pandemic started - I like to read bumper stickers when sitting in traffic.  I also like to try to figure out what personal license plates are saying.  But I saw a great bumper sticker the other day.

DRIVE LIKE YOU HAVE SOME COMMON SENSE!

Mr. Gnome

All is well here.  Our weather is good, sun is out, pollen is heavy.  I raised up a yellow cloud this morning when I used the blower on the porch. It rained during the night and made a yellow paste on some things.  Ick.

Mr. Gnome is all ready for Summer.  He opened up his fish pond. 😊

New Planter

Les got me a new planter!  I put some nice marigolds in it yesterday.  I don't know if that is its permanent spot yet or not.  But for now it will sit next to the welcoming gnome on the porch.

Les did yard work again.  Our power wash "guy" came with his helper and cleaned everything from the roof down on the house and our shed.  They also cleaned the porch, patio, deck, walk, and driveway.  So we're all spiffed up right now.  Of course, the pollen is still thick, but that lasts a while around here.  

We also cleaned both cars inside and out.  Just catching up on some things.

Just Saying Hello

 

I hope everyone is doing well.  It's a nice day here, sunny and heading to the low 70's.  Les is playing golf. 

I've just been busy taking care of some things around here.  You know, getting caught up. 

I have an appointment tomorrow to get sutures taken out.  I'll be glad when that is done. 

Our girls and families are doing okay.  Everyone is busy.  It is Spring break for all of our grandchildren except Jordan.  ODU isn't doing a Spring break due to the pandemic.

Congratulations, Boxer!

One evening this week Les and I sat in front of our computer and watched an awards presentation for Honor Students.  It was different than being there in person, but very nice.  Congratulations to Boxer for all his hard work!
