Hey!

I hope everyone is well and staying safe.

It is still hot and humid here.  The yard work is still waiting. 😊

Eloise is still enjoying her safe space.  Although we do have the door open so she can come out and explore the rest of the house.  Since she had been at Cat Corner since she was a baby, she's never been in a big house and had a lot of space.  It's just going to take a while for her to be completely comfortable.  I admit, it's hard to be patient, but we are trying.  She is a sweetie and I've discovered she loves to be brushed.  Also discovered she won't eat the food that I was told she loved at the shelter!  So I got her some Fancy Feast Flaked Tuna Feast.  She gobbles that up!

In other news, nothing new.  We're okayish.

And here are pictures of some adorable visitors in our yard the other day.

There are actually four baby raccoons out there.  One is under the Hydrangea bush.

Working on climbing skills.  That's as far up as they got.

Take care of yourselves and stay safe.  Life is good.  And God Bless America!

Our New Furry Family Member

It's been lonely here since we lost Finnigan and we miss him. But we have adopted a new furry sweetie!

Eloise is a two-year-old, short haired, nine pound, Dilute Torbie kitty. She is currently staying in her "safe" room (our library). She is de-stressing and adjusting to life after moving. Les and I go in and talk to her and pet her multiple times during the day. Hopefully we can soon let her roam free in our home. For now, though, she seems to prefer snuggling under the blanket we gave her.

There WILL be more pictures later.

Life is better. Stay safe. God Bless America!

Just Checking In

Les and I are doing okayish.  We're still sad about Finnigan, we miss him.  But it's been a busy week.

We both had our check-ups with Dr. Jones.  Most of our lab work was normal and we go back in six months.  The MDX had a safety inspection and some recall work done, plus an oil change.  I had my annual eye exam and have ordered new glasses.  All the tests that Dr. Kitay did were good.  I got my hair trimmed and that feels better.

I discovered a loose shingle lying up on the roof and someone was supposed to come on Friday to fix that, but no one showed up.  I have sent Steve a message so he can call the man again.

Today is Les' birthday!  Happy birthday, honey!  Love you lots!

In between all the things getting done, I filled out the adoption application for Cat Corner.  The house is really lonely without a cat in it.  This is the first time ever since we moved to Virginia that we haven't had one, or two or three or four.  Our application was accepted and I went yesterday to meet some kitties and talk with the adoption coordinator.  Wednesday, Eloise will be coming home with us.  You will get pictures once she is used to being with us.

I took this picture a couple days ago.  I haven't taken many sky pictures lately.  It was time.

Take care of yourselves and stay safe.  Life is still good.  God Bless America!

Sad Week

Our sweet Finnigan started having medical problems this past week from his kidney disease.  He's been treated for it and been on special food for a several years. He had been doing well, but had a sudden onset.  We took him in for a check and he was given fluids and an injection and we brought him home.  Neither of those helped him and we had to make a tough decision.  The next morning I took him back to see his doctor when the clinic opened.  She checked him and said if that had not helped, there was nothing else we could do.  We knew this would be coming, but it was not easy.  We miss him.  This is the last picture I took of him  a few days before he got worse.

Les and I are doing okayish.  I am keeping busy.  We will eventually get another kitty, but not immediately.  This is the first time that our home here has been without a cat.  It is so lonely.

But life goes on, there are things to do.  This is a busy week for us with several appointments and work on one of the cars.  There is always yard work to be done, but it is waiting until it is NOT so hot and humid.  This is a brutal Summer in many areas.  And I am not handling the heat well this year.

Take care of yourselves and stay safe.  Life is still good.  God Bless America.
