Hey!

Nothing I want to talk about right now, but want to show off the new quilt Pam made for my birthday!  Thanks, Pam!

It has already been used while I watched TV.  It's a great "comfy quilt"!

You Know I Like Starbucks . . . . . and Cats!

Hello, the past week has gone by quickly, so I thought I'd better check in.

The new microwave was installed yesterday.  The measurements I took before we ordered it were correct, and it fit just fine!  Whew!  Looks good.  We have not used it yet but the installer checked everything to be sure it all worked.  I don't actually cook in a microwave.  We use it for leftovers and making popcorn.  Tonight is a popcorn night!  I'll let you know how it goes.

I had a birthday this past week.  It was a nice, but quiet, day.  Was also a dark, windy, cold, and rainy day, so we we did not go out for dinner.  But we had some wonderful cheesecake that Les ordered for dessert.  We'll go out for dinner another evening.

Les and I are doing alright.  We have a couple appointments this coming week.

Pam says they are okay and the repairs on their deck and outside stairs have begun.

Things are finally better at Jacquie's.  They've been under quarantine with Covid until a few days ago.  She said they are all doing better now.

I've had to spend too much time on the phone the last day or so.  Our Credit Union started a new electronic bill pay system a few months ago.  I've mentioned this in previous posts.  Well, they are still having issues.  Last month they paid one of our bills twice.  Not a problem, we just had a credit on that bill and this months' is just thirty cents.  But now they say they can't sink/connect with a biller and when I click to fix it, I am asked to answer a security question.  This wouldn't be a problem if it was a question that Les and I had ever seen and answered before.  But it's an odd one we've never heard of.  And this brings me to a major "peeve".  Why in the name of what's Holy, do companies  hire people to answer their phones and let them work in spaces with loud background noise, and these people can't speak clearly?!  I'll be here in a quiet room with the phone volume turned up and there's so much static and noise coming from them I can't understand them.  And please, company managers and HR people, make sure your employees can speak and understand English.  I do not intend any prejudice here, just offering some common sense.  People working on phones should be understandable.   A little training first before you put them on the phones would be good.  And on this topic, for Pete's sake!! Make your automated "Chat AI Person" better.  There is enough annoyance in the world.  We don't need all this!  BTW, I'll be back on the phone again on Monday.  Wish me luck!  And enough of this, thanks for "listening".

It's sunny but cool here today.  There are a few things that could be done outside, but that is not happening for a while.  I am sure the weeds will wait for me.

Take care of yourselves.  Life is good.  And God Bless America!

Evening Sky

I took this picture last evening.  As we were getting ready to eat supper I looked out and saw that  there was a pink hue outside.  This is what I found.

Les and I are doing alright.  Trying to keep up with things.

Since my last actual writing, we had to go out to Lowe's and purchase a new microwave.  On Tuesday as I was preparing lunch, the current microwave made a very loud banging noise, smelled "funny", and put out a little smoke.  Fortunately, I was right there beside it and shut it off immediately.  We decided it would be best to just get a new one rather than try to get it repaired.  If that would even be possible!  The new one should be installed next week.

Our weather hasn't been too bad.  It was almost 70 yesterday with some rain.  Today it is in the low-50's and sunny.  The yard guys came yesterday and did the first treatment of the year on the yard.

Shadows!

Finnigan is very interested in all the shadows and reflections that we have this time of year when the leaves are off the trees.   The sun comes in and it all starts. 💕  And he always makes me look!

We are doing alright.  Keeping up with things.  There's been frost most mornings and even though the sun might be out, it is cold.

We had some work done and we now have a new sub-meter for the water line.  The reason for it is we get a discount on the water used by our sprinkler system.  The old sub-meter was installed when we built the house.  It had worn out and was pretty much unreadable.  And it was down in a deep box in the ground and just about impossible to get to or read.  The new one will be above ground.  It will be put in place when the system is turned back on in the spring.

Take care of yourselves and stay safe.  Life is good.  God Bless America!!

Evening Sky

Just posting a picture of a recent evening sky.  I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

Les and I are doing alright.  His physical therapy is going okay and just getting started.  His goal is to get back out on the golf course.  🏌 I know he misses playing, especially on days like we've been having.  We recently had all the hard freezing days around Christmas and now we have have temperatures around 70.  I know it's going to get cold again, but it's nice while it's here.

I've been working on my "to-do" list and getting some things done and checked off.  And sometimes adding more things to the list to remember. 😊

Our family is doing okay, and the grandchildren are back to school and classes.  Everyone is busy.

Take care of yourselves.  Life is good.  And God Bless America!
