Busy, Busy

We've had some work done on the house this past week. We decided to have the trim wrapped on the house, eliminating the need for frequent repainting.  A few small repairs were done along the way, too.  They still need to build our new porch railing, but that should be done soon. This all meant an adjustment to schedules and routines so one of us would be here since the garage door needed to remain open.

Jeff, the young painter who has done a lot of work for us, came this morning and painted the chimney cap, the molding around the big garage door, and the new step and frame of the front door.  He will be back when the railing is finished.  Things are looking good.

Golfer and I went out after lunch and did a little trimming on the holly tree and crape myrtle trees.  We lost a rather large holly branch during the Winter.  And a largish branch broke off another tree and lodged up in the holly during one of the storms.  We've been trying to get it down and finally got it today.  Golfer trimmed a couple branches that were head height and always got him when he mows.  The crape myrtle trees did not need much.  We let them go natural, we do not do the "crape murder" that so many people do.  When they start to green up, if they have any dead bits, we'll cut those then.

He did some Round-up spraying the other day.   I try to do my weekly walk-arounds to keep things under control. So far, so good!

We have had some lovely weather here.  For a few days it was close to 80.  We had a storm last evening with thunder, some wind, some heavy rain and some hail.  Today is in the 50's.  But it's sunny and nice out.  Just not 80.  ðŸ˜‰

To add to an already busy week, I had an appointment with a new lady for a hair cut; still getting used to that.  Then an appointment with our dermatologist for a biopsy; no results yet.  And then a dentist appointment; all okay there.  When I could get the time there were errands to do and things to take care of.  Oh!  And our taxes were finished and we went and signed the paperwork.  Refunds on the way!

So, to sum it up, life is good.  Stay safe.  And God Bless America!
