Day Ten

Much activity again today!

Kevin and Chris came early and installed some more bracing or something for the shower floor liner. Then Eli and his young helper came and installed the liner.

That was followed by Chris and Kevin returning with the drywall. It was added to the pile in the garage. Then Scott came, then Mike, owner of ABL, arrived to check on progress, too. Kevin and Chris continued with the bracing and the general clean-up. They connected the vent fan to the outside. That's nice. Now if someone happens to hit that switch by mistake when turning on a light it won't be blowing insulation down from the attic area! We had discussion about the location of the grab bars and the need for more bracing.

After they all had a lunch break, Chris and Kevin returned to continue their work. Scott returned with Wes, the man who will be installing the drywall and such. He may actually be starting the work tomorrow.

The floor and remaining old wall sections have been scraped clean and are ready for the next step. For today, the guys are finished. I have more clean-up to do, but I've got it down to a convenient routine now!

The pictures are of the sink area and of the shower area with the new liner. They put a sheet of heavy styrofoam down on the shower floor so it wouldn't be damaged by ladders or anything when the drywall goes up.
