Another Wildlife Picture

I was out at our curb putting trash in the wheelie bin on trash day and looked up.  I always look up.  Never know what I might see.  Recently I think I saw the space station flying over, but that's another story.  And since I was driving at the time, I have no picture.

Anyway, this tree is by our patio in the backyard.  I don't know why there is that bare branch sticking up, but the bird seems to like it there!  And the tree is conveniently located near our bird feeder.

I did have a cooler day and got a little outside work done earlier in the week.  Then it got HOTTER and more humid.  Last evening the heat index was 106.  It's not quite that hot today, and it's cloudy but still humid.  

My Rheumatology appointment went well.  Doctor was very nice and spent more time with me than I expected.  Lab work was done and some x-rays.  Results are not all in yet and I won't hear from him until he gets those and reviews.  

I've just been keeping up with the usual things around here.  Did some errands.  Had to get a new coffee maker. It arrived last evening and I got it set up and we used it this morning; worked fine.

I  hope everyone is well and safe.  Take care of yourselves.

Les and I are okayish.  I've been trying to keep up with things.  You know, just knocking off one project at a time.  It is HOT and humid here today, 94 degrees.  Nothing outside is getting done by me today! When we have another cooler day, I plan to start cleaning the exterior window frames and doing a little touchup painting where needed.  There are always things on the To-Do list that need attention.

Our biggest thing this past week was going to Lazy Boy and purchasing new furniture.  We should have it in six to eight weeks. I'll keep you posted.

I haven't taken many sky pictures lately, but when I went out to pick up the paper off the driveway this morning, I had to get my phone and get a picture!  

I have my long awaited Rheumatology appointment on Wednesday.  This was the first available appointment when my PCP referred me in early January.  I am hoping for some relief.  Will keep you posted on this, too.

Wildlife

I  hope everyone is doing okay and staying safe.  Les and I are okayish here.

I've been keeping up with all the usual things and plugging away at extra projects.  There is always something that needs attention.  And sometimes, I just feel like sitting down and reading. 😊

We had some car issues last week and that is taken care of and the TLX is running fine now.

A couple times during the past week, late afternoon and early evening, I have seen visitors in our yard.  Raccoons!  First ones I have seen here in a while.  The first time it was one that looked like an adult.  Looked healthy and moved well, bright eyes.  Having a snack at our feeder.  I did not have my phone with me to take a picture.  But yesterday, I had my phone in time to take pictures.  I got a picture of a young one.  They also looked healthy.  And I think there might have been a second one there, too, but on the ground and behind the Hydrangeas.

Raccoons are nocturnal, so they were probably just having a small breakfast. We used to always hear that seeing one in daytime was unsafe.  This is no longer true.  So many have lost their habitats as construction and more people have taken over their spaces.  So they have adapted and come out during the day when needed.  Just leave them alone and they won't bother you.  But if you do see a sick or injured one, call a wildlife rescue for help. Don't try to help them yourself.  What to look for is the condition of their coats, are their eyes clear, and how do they move.  When this one was finished at our feeder, they hopped down and ran towards the back of our yard and up the sound wall.  They had things to do and "people" to see.
