After almost four months of stress and frustrations, we have a new refrigerator. It will be lovingly called "Dammit".
Dammit had soooooo much protective wrap and tape on for safe shipment we didn't think we would ever get it all off. And there might still be some in there that we missed. In the process of removing it all from the freezer part, one of the shelves came out and we could not get it back in place. No help in the manual or online. We ended up going up to Home Depot and talking with a salesperson. Eventually it was figured out, but it wasn't easy. So now it is up and running but not making any ice yet. I have drained the water line like we were told. Cleaning has been done.
I finally got to take the bandage off my hand and take a nice long shower and wash my hair. Ahhhhh!
Yesterday the two new tables we bought for the living room were delivered. We like them and are getting used to them. They are nice solid wood from the Amish Furniture store.
So life is good! Take care of yourselves and stay safe. God Bless America!
I hope you are all continuing to stay safe.
My surgery went well. I was told that as soon as the nerve block wore off I could use my hand lightly. The nerve block lasted until about 3:30 after the surgery. Each day is a little better. The big bandage has to stay dry until it comes off tomorrow. The tingly feeling and numbness I had had before the surgery is all gone. I see the doctor again in two weeks. Life is good!
Les and I went to First Watch for breakfast this morning. He's been doing a great job taking care of me.
We are getting two new side tables for beside our chairs and they are coming this afternoon from the Amish furniture store near us.
Hopefully our new refrigerator will arrive tomorrow. Different store but same delivery company. Keep your fingers crossed. 😊
The yard is really greening up and there are buds and leaves coming out on everything. Looks pretty with the new mulch. We're having some rain today. In a couple days it is supposed to be 80.
Take care and stay safe. God Bless America!
I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. And I hope that pretty soon everyone will have had the Covid vaccine.
Les and I are doing okay here. I've been keeping up with things and today I've been doing some odds and ends that needed attention. The surgery on my left hand is tomorrow morning. I will probably be a little limited for a couple days. I'm hoping it goes as well as the surgery on my right hand did.
The sun is out today, there is a breeze, and it is in the upper 50's.
Our yard is looking pretty good at the moment. The azalea bushes are greening up. There are leaves and leaf buds coming out on the hydrangeas. The day lilies are shooting up green leaves, too. the trees are getting leaf buds, too. The guys did a good job cleaning up across the back of our yard and cleaning out the rocks and mulch areas back there. The new cedar mulch is pretty and smells great, too.
I will get a picture of the front later.
Take care of yourselves and stay safe. Life is good. And God Bless America!
FYI, I have just about had enough of being on the phone.
After the previous post, I got on the phone. First I talked with people at Lowe's several times. They did finally confirm that two refunds had been processed. As of this writing, they have NOT shown up on our credit account. But I do understand that that takes time to work through the system and I am keeping an eye on it.
Then it was a call to the Extended Warranty division. After being on hold for an extremely long time, I gave up and got on the schedule for a call back. Of course that came just as we were eating supper, but at that point I just didn't care. It was a friendly voice and the man was helpful, even if it did take a long time to explain everything and then for him to look up everything. There is another frustration though. Even though we paid by credit card for the warranty, they can not just issue a credit to us. They will send us a check for the full amount we paid. Keep the Post Office in your thoughts. Mail delivery has been a bit iffy lately.
By the end of all that, it was time to shower and get ready to rest under my quilt.
This morning Les had a doctor's appointment. When he returned home we went to Home Depot armed with paperwork for the refrigerator we had picked out online. A very nice female employee (not that that makes any difference at all) helped us. The gist of talking with her is that the appliance we want is in stock, and it should be delivered on the 25th. We could have actually had it a little sooner but I am having surgery on the 22nd and wanted a couple days to recuperate a little.
So, as of right now, I think the refrigerator issues might be coming to a close. Of course, the delivery people still have to get it here, moved inside, and installed without breaking it.
Life is great! Take care and stay safe. God Bless America!
