Busy Week!

Hey, All!

I  hope you're all doing well.  It did indeed snow here on Tuesday.  No major problems and mainly just stuck on the roof and grass.  It was pretty, but we still want warm weather and sunshine.  We got the sunshine today but it is still cold.

It's been a busy week for us so far.  I think I mentioned we were having some computer issues.  We finally just gave up and went and got a new one.  Golfer has been working for a couple days setting it up and trying to get everything to work.  It gets frustrating!  The system on the new computer is the same one as is on my Surface 2, so I am a little familiar with it, but I haven't had a chance to try the new one yet.

We had a "to-do" list that needed some attention.  So we tackled that a couple times and we've gotten new pool passes for Summer, went and signed up with a new dentist (ours is retiring), bought a new doorbell button, got our lottery tickets, returned a faulty blood pressure machine, recycled the old computer, and did a few other things.

The afternoon of the day it snowed the guys came and turned on the sprinkler system and did a couple repairs on it.  I doubt we'll need to use it any time soon the way the weather has been!

Then the Mustang needed to go in for some minor service.  And the truck needed the registration renewed.

Golfer had a doctor appointment.

We went to the "Y" a couple times.

Wet met our friends J and B for a visit at Starbucks.  That was a relaxing, nice time.

Nurse J and Cutie Girl stopped by and we got baby snuggles and grins!

So you see, we've been trying to stay occupied while waiting for the cold weather to leave!

Honestly, I'd like to be outside washing windows and pulling some weeds, but that is going to wait until it gets warmer.

Time Flies By!

Hey, All!

I just realized it's been almost two weeks since I posted.  I've thought about it lots of times, but just haven't gotten to it.

Golfer and I are doing okay.  We've had some medical appointments and tests and other routine things going on.  So far, so good.

Spring is really trying around here, but it's still back and forth.  Yesterday was in high 70's and sunny and today is cloudy and a lot cooler.  And it might snow on Tuesday.  That is not stopping the plants and trees though.  Bud are appearing on the trees and Spring flowers are popping up.  The grass is green and weeds are growing!  We've done some raking and yard clean-up on nice days and will be getting new mulch in a couple weeks.  The Winter was hard on some of the azaleas and we might have to replace a couple of them.  We're keeping an eye on them to see if they "green" up.

Our girls are doing well and everyone is busy.  We don't see either of them as often as we'd like, but we keep in touch.  Boxer is playing baseball and just participated in the Science Olympiad for his school.  Bloomer has been taking an art class and keeps busy looking for little creatures out in the yard.  BeyB made us all feel old!  She ordered her class ring this past week!  And CutieGirl is still as cute as ever.  Hard to believe she'll be one next month!

On other topics - - - I hope the authorities find some answers about the missing plane.  The not knowing has to be horrible for the families.

On a lighter note, Starbucks has plans to start serving wine!  My friend, B, and I sometimes meet up for coffee at Starbucks and this might make it a whole new occasion.  Although I doubt our Starbucks will be one of the wine serving locations!  :)

Happy Birthday, Boxer!

Sigh..

Well, it is cold again here.  Hence the sigh.  I want to wash windows and pull weeds and do other things outside.  Unfortunately, my body does not cooperate with doing those types of things outside no matter how many layers I put on!  I know Spring is coming.  But this has been one of the longest and coldest, nastiest Winters around here in a long time.

And when talking about it, pretty much the only good thing that's said is that it might cut down the bug population this Summer!

Anyway, I hope everyone is well.  Golfer and I are doing okay and looking forward to warmer days.

Signs of Spring!

If you look closely at the trees around here you can see some tiny buds starting to show.  I noticed some of the neighbors have daffodils that are having green leaves coming up.  Today was the last day of the garden center sale so I went and bought three pots of pansies.  We are soooooo ready for warmer weather to stick around.  It's about 70 today and sunny.  There's a "chance of wintry mix" on Wednesday.  But one must remain optimistic!

Winding Down

The 2014 Winter Olympics are almost over.  This has been a strange event.  I did not expect to see palm trees in Russia.  And there's something wrong with watching snow sports with the athletes in shirt sleeves!  

I had issues with timing.  The events I wanted to watch were almost always shown too late at night.  Of course, I could have watched them during the afternoon broadcasts, but I was usually busy doing other things.  But I saw most of what I wanted to see and also discovered a couple new events that I really enjoyed.

What's not to like about Snow Board Cross!?!?  Four to six boarders racing down the course at the same time, wiping out and falling down and sliding all over the place!  YAY!  And there was Ski Cross!  Also with multiple skiers racing down and wiping out!  I don't want to see anyone get hurt, but I love watching them sliding over the finish lines on their butts!

And all that brings to mind when Golfer and I lived in South Carolina and went to Roller Derby!  Also a good one to watch.  And many years ago, when we lived in Maryland we went to "big time wrasslin' matches".  Now keep in mind that I grew up watching my Grama and Granpa watch wrestling and boxing on TV and scream at the participants.  Of course, they also yelled at the court show participants and game show participants, but that's another story.

We also went to base hockey games while stationed in Germany.  Another good opportunity to get excited and holler.

Ladies' figure skating is usually quiet and serene.  Until it gets to where they are unhappy with the judges. That is also another story.  I don't think I saw any of the male skating this time.  I heard the announcer tell that for the next Winter Olympics the skaters will be allowed to use modern, popular music and they were hoping no one would choose to skate to Bieber.  We'll see.

I enjoyed Matt and Al on the Today Show going down the luge again.  They said this was the last time for that!  Good thing.
