Busy Week

I hope everyone is well!

It's been a busy week here.  Time change always seems to disrupt sleep patterns for a couple days, but we're pretty much back to "normal" here.  Les has had multiple appointments.  The speech therapy is going okay.  Occupational therapy evaluation was done and that therapy will start this coming week.  This should help manual dexterity, handwriting, etc.

He also had a lab appointment with our GP Doctor.  And lastly, he saw one of our orthopedic doctors.  The MRI did show meniscus tears.  And while Les has not had the pain since the cortisone injection and the fluid was drawn out, his leg is still unstable and he does not trust it.  And that means he can't do the exercises he needs to do.  He will be having surgery on his left knee in the near future.  We should be getting a call this week to get things started for scheduling and pre-surgery testing.

This coming week there are more therapy sessions and a couple other doctor appointments.  In between those I am keeping up with things as much as possible.  So far, so good.  I have hoped to get out to do some yard work but I can't seem to get the weather and my my energy to sync up!  Either it's too cold or wet or I'm too tired or achy.  😊 It will eventually happen.  I do have our usual guy/company lined up to do some cleanup and put down new cedar mulch.  And I finally got pansies for our porch pots!!

The pansies always make me happy, so I've been anxious to get them!

Our girls and families are all  okay and busy.  Our family members in Ohio are now doing better.

Please take care of yourselves and stay safe.  God Bless America!

Gearing Up

Given the state of things in our world over the past few years, I have gotten into the habit and routine of doing as many of our errands as possible remotely.  By that, I mean I use drive through transactions whenever possible and I shop online.  If I do need to go into a store, I go as early as possible.

Recently I had to do several errands that involved going into stores and being around  more people than I would like to be around.  So I geared up.  I put on this shirt.  When I got in the car, I cranked up my recorded CD of Helen Reddy and listened to "I Am Woman".  The trip went well and all was accomplished.

You just have to do what you have to do and do it the way that works for you.  😊

Stay safe people.  Life is good.  God Bless America!

Just An Update

I hope everyone is doing okay.  I know some of you have been, or are, sick with various viruses and such.  Take care of yourselves and try to stay safe.  It seems like there is a lot of "stuff" going around.

As for Les and me, we are okayish.  He had the MRI on his leg Sunday morning, and will see the orthopedic doctor next week to get results and find out what's next.  The cortisone injection and having fluid taken out of his knee helped relieve it, but it still isn't great.

His speech therapy has started.  The people are very nice and have given him homework to do every day.  He goes twice a week.

He is moving around a little better and thinking of things he wants to do.  We went out for breakfast Sunday morning after the MRI.

I am doing alright and trying to keep up with things.  There is yard work I'd like to do, but I'm still waiting for the right weather for doing that.  To be honest, I am still feeling some of the side effects from a recent antibiotic I was on.  The effects got so bad I told the PA I was stopping it, and she agreed.  That medication is going on my list!

It's sunny here today, but in the 50's and windy.  I was out cleaning pollen off the porch this morning and it feels cold!

When Pam was here helping us during Les' hospital stay and after, she and I agreed that the fold out chair-into-a-bed that we had bought for our bonus room was not so great to sleep on.  Fortunately she had brought a thick foam mat to put on it and that helped.  But we are now ready for the next time!  I bought a twin bed for the upstairs.  It is currently set up lengthwise against the wall.  We'll see how that works out, might decide to shift it around.  The elliptical machine is on the left side, out of the picture.

Take care of yourselves and stay safe.  Life is good, consider the alternative.

And God Bless America!
