A Belated Post

Huh, I just realized I did not get this post done.  My birthday was last Saturday.  Les took me up to Short Pump (Richmond area) and we stayed at a Hilton, went to Frostings, the fancy cupcake shop, and ate dinner at Maggiano's.  It was all lovely and we had a good time.  Thanks, honey!

Usually when I post pictures of the sky they are of sunrises.  But as we were leaving the hotel to go to dinner I had to stop and take this picture of a sunset.  It was beautiful!

Good Times

Last evening we attended a performance of "CATS" at CNU.  It is a Broadway on Tour production and it is wonderful!  So much talent and a great show!  During the intermission, Old Deuteronomy sat on stage.  Les and I have seen "CATS" at least five times at different theaters and have loved it each time.

Our yard guys are coming today for their first visit of the year to do their thing.  I think it will be weed killer and maybe fertilizer, but we'll see.  It's not all that warm out right now, but our Hydrangeas are getting leaf buds.  Also, our Day Lilies are coming up and the pink bud trees out on Victory Blvd. are starting to bloom.  And we had robins in the yard yesterday!  The bird feeder was busy this morning with cardinals, bluebirds, tiny wrens, and robins... and a couple squirrels.  But they were all sharing.  I may have to go out and fill it again though.

So, life remains great!  Stay safe and God Bless America!

Hey

Well, it's Sunday after a somewhat busier week.  I have finished my medicines and am feeling better and slowly getting back to normal, but that cough is still hanging on.  Next week I see a new Rheumatologist and hope to get some relief with the increased joint pain and muscle weakness I've been having.  I'll keep you posted.  (I'm sure there is no connection for any of this with my upcoming birthday!  LOL!!)

Our weather has been back and forth.  Today is sunny, cool, and breezy.  Tomorrow is supposed to be even colder according to Weather Channel.

As far as I know things are good at Pam's.

At last text, everyone at Jacquie's, except Jordan, is sick with flu/virus.  She said to stay away.  I said let us know if we can get anything and drop off at the door.

Our sweet little Cecil had his annual check-up and has been diagnosed with a heart murmur and failing kidneys.  He has always been easily stressed ever since we brought him into our family when he was about six weeks old (that was over fourteen years ago).  And when he gets stressed, he hides.  Lately though, he has been more sociable, and been sitting on my lap and getting up on the bed with us at night.  We had to take him for a second appointment for some x-rays and to try some fluid treatment.  That treatment did not seem to make any changes in anything.  And we've been told there is no cure.  So we are keeping him as happy and content as possible for as long as possible.

I've been catching up on some things around the house, some "desk work", and doing just a little cleaning out in a couple areas.  Also got caught up on the errands.

So, all in all, life is good.  Stay safe and God Bless America!

Just Checking In

I'm still here and still coughing.  This is getting so "old".  Still taking the meds, too.

In other news, after a couple days of dark and rainy, today is bright and sunny and in mid-50's.  The guys are playing golf.  And the forecast for the weekend is cold and snow.  Like I've said before, I am ready for warm weather and sunshine.  So here is a favorite picture.

Sloooooowly Getting Back to "Normal"

Since my last post, I was feeling worse and went to see our doctor.  He said I had an acute sinus infection and respiratory congestion.  I had a bad headache that last at least five days, and much coughing.   I have been resting, drinking fluids, taking antibiotics, cough syrup, Mucinex, and Tylenol.  This has just wiped me out.  I am feeling better each day, and able to do more each day, but still have an awful cough.

The weather has been back and forth and it's been warm for a couple days.  Supposed to get cooler again soon though.

Les is doing okay but he still has a cough now and then, too.

I got our new Valentine pillow covers on the pillows.  Thanks, Pam!

Life is great, stay safe!  And God Bless America!

It Is a Blah Day

It is cold, cloudy, and raining off and on here.  I did not sleep well and have increased joint pain and a headache.  Les decided to not play golf today because of the weather.  We have no big plans for the day.

I took this picture last evening while we were watching TV.

From left to right that is Angus, Finnigan is the lump under the quilt, and Cecil.  I was just sitting there relaxing with all three on my lap.  There will be more of that today.

Stay safe and God Bless America!  Life is still good (even if I don't feel like it)!
