HOW #!@*!! RUDE!

I just returned home from picking up some additional medicine for our furry kid, Hermione.  Driving on Route 17.  During "rush hour" (which is longer than an hour).  I just told Golfer that I want a media blitz to inform all the idiot drivers what a YIELD sign means!

It does NOT mean speed down the exit ramp and force yourself in front of me and make me slam on the brakes!  Period.

Guy in the big brown SUV - you. are. an. a**hole!

Amen.  Stay safe. And the rest of you have a good day!

We're Back from Arizona!

Hey, all!
I realize my posts are few and far between, but time just flies by!  Not an excuse, just a fact.

Golfer and I just returned from a vacation in Arizona with his brother, L, and his wife, V.  We met up in Phoenix and stayed at a beautiful home we rented for the week.  The Cleveland Indians' Spring training camp is located there and that was the main purpose of the trip.  The Goodyear stadium is very nice and we had a great time seeing three games!  The weather did not start out too great though, and we nearly froze our fingers off at first, but it got better as the week progressed and by the end of the week we were sitting out in the sun in shirtsleeves saying how hot it was.

Golfer and L played a couple rounds of golf while there and had a good time.  We all took a lovely drive up the South Mountain Park scenic drive.  The view from the summit is fantastic!  And would have been even better if it hadn't been drizzly that day!

The house was fully furnished and equipped and even had a putting green!

I really enjoyed the open spaces, peace and quiet and the huge sky full of stars at night.  Reminded me of when Golfer and I lived in Colorado.  We saw a couple coyotes and several hummingbirds, but did not see any of the snakes or bears we had been warned about.

We had a nice visit with some Air Force friends who live in Phoenix and it was great to see them.

This picture is of some of the landscaping at the house.  You can see some more in the previous picture behind the putting green.

So, we're back home now.  Everything was covered in yellow pollen.  The grass was tall and Golfer got it mowed before the rain started.  I've been doing the laundry and catching up on things around the house.  Our furry kids are happy to have things back to normal.  Although they do like the young lady who takes care of them when we are away.  (I think she spoils them a little)  :)

That's all for now.  Take care and stay safe!

It Was a Good Afternoon!

I feel better now.  I got my hair trimmed.  So much for letting it grow out!  Couldn't take it any more!  Looks and feels better now!

When I got home, Golfer and I went out and did a few errands.  The most fun one was going to Anderson's Garden Center and buying pansies.  When we got home, I got busy with the shovel and got them planted in the ground.  Put one in the porch pot.  Also oiled the old chair I use for a plant stand and swept the porch.  Golfer sprayed some of the new "Round-Up" we bought.  Ahhhhhhh......  Of course, it's supposed to get cooler again, but these are supposed to be "hardy" flowers.

We'll be getting the shredded cedar mulch put down in a couple weeks.  Looking forward to that being done, too!

Stay safe!

It Feels Like Spring! At Least for Today!

Hey, all!

I hope you're all doing well and are happy and content.  Golfer and I are doing okay.

I've been busy learning to use the apps and functions of my new phone and also learning to use Twitter!  The more I use them, the less nervous I'm getting.  Golfer is still shocked.  I think he bought the new phone for me thinking I'd just use it for phone calls, but I love it and can't seem to turn it off!

We had Jeff, our wonderful painter, at the house all last weekend.  He painted ceilings on the main floor and the stairway to the one upstairs room.  He's coming back on Saturday to finish upstairs.  Still has to do the walls and the trim work.  It all looks great!  He did some patching and mending in a couple spots where we had nail pops and the area where we had an ice dam and leak over the fireplace.  Golfer and I were busy re-hanging the window treatments and doing some cleaning as painting finished in each area.  By the time this project is done, the Spring cleaning will be done, too!

It's in the 70's here today and sunny.  I think we're going to go to one of the nurseries in the area and look for pansies this afternoon.  I am really anxious to get some planted and perk things up.  Although the grass is very green and trees are budding all around us.

I had my annual physical recently and was diagnosed as being Vitamin D deficient.  Our doctor says that could be a factor in fatigue that I have been blaming on the RA.  I have started a weekly supplement and will have to see how it goes.  Everything else went well... except for Dr. P having the nerve to suggest that just maybe, perhaps, I should consider cutting back on the Starbucks coffee or switching to decaf!  I usually only drink one cup of coffee a day and only go to Starbucks a couple times a week, and I hate the idea of decaf, but I told him I would "think" about it!

I've been busy trying to get some closets cleaned out and some things organized and taken care of.  Easter is approaching quickly and we always get the kids a little something.  Not to bust a surprise or anything, but eight-year-old little boys are not real thrilled with cute little stuffed bunnies.  Absolutely nothing will say "Happy Easter" like a tub of military men, tanks and planes!  :)

BeyB is doing well in school and has adjusted to wearing braces okay.  I think she's already looking forward to Summer!  NurseJ and CableGuy are having the windows replaced in their house.  They are all well and busy.

Boxer has to have braces also and is in the first stages of that. Baseball is going well.  Bloomer started swim lessons. She's like a little fish when she's in the water; she loves it!  Bikini and Brief are busy and all are doing well.  We had a great visit with Bikini when she came to Virginia for the quilt show.

That brings everything up to date.  Stay safe!
